peak condition

soooo – i had a really good time watching this today:

“many of your people are content living directionless lives – shelling pistachios and watching your obscenity screens. is this what you were born to do? is this your highest aspiration as a species? NO! NO! NO!”

the video is an awesome creation by laura jane favela .   plus, i’ve always loved the look of stop motion.  i can hardly contemplate how much work must go into something like this – i’m sure it’s a huge labor of love.  as soon as david got home, i made him squat down beside me and watch it again.  ooh.  i love it.

what teachers make…

we are in a constant state of flux it seems and david is in the middle of deciding that he would eventually like to teach.  and i don’t disagree – he stays late in his classes to help the folks around him, piddles with what he’s in school to learn (for fun on his own time), and genuinely wants to instill the enthusiasm and curiosity he has for his subject in others.  i think he would be a great teacher.

in honor of david’s decision, here is something we find pretty inspiring from a teacher about being a teacher.  have you ever heard a spoken word artist?

talk about passion!
