thank goodness for a rainy day

last week it was over 100 degrees every day.  so that makes this week of off and on rain and temperatures in the 70s pretty glorious.  plus the grass in my back yard has stopped its slow change to a solid brown color and the leaves of my hydrangea have stopped getting scorched.  actually, the rain has knocked a bunch of leaves down from the trees and it looks a little like fall (i wish).  my flowers are extremely happy and even the pile of wildflower seeds that i dumped in an empty spot in the garden is looking like it might get to the point of blooming – i really didn’t think any of them would.  in any case, the dogs and i spent a nice afternoon playing around in the wet grass and being thankful for the cooler temps.

little arty (below) is still adoptable by the way. i can’t believe we’ve had him for over 6 months.  he needs a forever home!

the moon man is hilarious when he starts in on his sweet gum ball playin’ – he doesn’t need help – he’ll just toss the gumball around all by himself and dodge around and pounce…adorable:

it’s kind of rare that he’ll let me take pictures while he does this.  usually he’ll eye me askance and walk off.  but not today!

  1. Arty is a wonderful subject! Great photos! We had a couple of fosters for almost a year when one was finally adopted. I decided to adopt the other myself. Poor old Tori was afraid of people and afraid of slick-surfaced floors. No one was interested in him, and he’d finally acclimated to us and our home… so we kept him! He’s flourishing now, and he loves his forever family! I hope Arty finds his forever home soon too!

    • Thanks! And I know what you mean – that’s how we ended up adopting the Moon Man. We fostered him for over a year since he was so shy of people – and by that time, he’d gotten comfortable here and we’d fallen in love! And poor Arty – he gets so nervous and upset when he first meets people (especially men). We’re just waiting for the perfect patient family to give him a chance!

      Thanks again!
